SOBO GALLERY
A huge debt of gratitude goes to Winter Garden Arts Association at SOBO Gallery in beautiful downtown Winter Garden. The wonderful team of people that make this gallery something special gave me my first opportunity to have a work in a gallery permanent exhibit. A true honor and privelege to be among other talented artists and to be seen in SOBO Gallery. I am forever grateful for their kindness and encouragement as an emerging artist, and for their support. Such things are priceless to an artist such as myself, especially early in your career. The impact they have had on countless other artists and the community is inspiring and admirable!
Some of my works that were exhibited
thanks to my friends at SOBO Gallery
This gentle maiden of the sea, titled "Heart of Water" was part of SOBO Gallery's "Waterworks" Exhibition. Made from reclaimed washers found in waterlogged boxes, and a piece of 100-year old decorative iron, many other parts and pieces of metal objects also came together to create her beautiful form. Her delicate hand holds a juvenile sea turtle made from old conduit and salvaged chain pieces. She now resides in RiverGrille on the Tomoka Restaurant in Ormond Beach, Florida where she greets visitors.
This automaton dressed-to-impress pig was revealed at SOBO's VIP sidewalk show outside Crooked Can Brewery. Sitting on an old oak whiskey barrel, this pig is powered by a 1930's hand crank bench grinder and conveyor belt motor. 6 cams and various switches operate all the moving parts, including his arms, wrist, hat, mouth, head, eyebrows,
bowtie, feet, and he also whistles after a sip of his whiskey!
"Intensity", an eagle scene made entirely with upcycled metals, including 70+ year old naval salvage pipe and conduit, is proudly part of this year's FORM AND FUNCTION exhibition August and September. Come see it and the collection of wonderful works made by other talented local artists in person!
"Spirit", a reclaimed metal sculpture made from a vintage motorcycle gas tank and a mixture of many reclaimed objects. This piece was selected to be part of their permanent exhibit, my first horse sculpture and a true honor. Their support and encouragement kept me inspired to keep creating and growing as an artist.
Be sure to visit SOBO Gallery if you are in the area of downtown Winter Garden! You'll be glad you did!

At the prestigious World Equestrian Center, two of my life-size equine sculptures exhibited for VIP guests. "Valor", war horse with barding, features antique components that date as far back as c.1870. "Chronoequinology 2.0", a highly polished brass, stainless and copper mechanical style horse bust, features pieces of Italian antique scooters, and brass polished parts created from the old antique brass kickplates taken from Lake county schools in remodels, as well as an old Coca-Cola factory stainless barrier post. Also found, if one takes the time, is a carefully placed coin tribute that dates back to the date of "Seabiscuit" and his first created sculpture in the 1940's.

Beautiful setting at night for Chronoequinology sculpture under the portico by the arena.
As a VIP guest artist at the Festivals of Speed and Kentucky Derby Event held at the luxurious World Equestrian Center in Ocala, our Whistling Pig drinking automaton , sitting on an old oak whiskey barrel, was a huge hit with VIP guests and visitors to the center.
The automaton raises his whiskey bottle to his mouth, twists his wrist and tilts his head back while he opens his mouth to take a drink. He hesitates on a second swig of the fine potion, then he taps his cane on the whiskey barrel, kicks both feet out, his bowtie pops out, his ears raise up, his eyebrows fly up, top hat raises off his head, and he lets out a loud whistle. This piece took almost 4 months to build and features some internal parts that are around 90 years old.
